DCCI calls for uniform single-digit VAT rate across Bangladesh
The Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry recently urged the government to fix a uniform single-digit value-added tax (VAT) rate across the board and a nominal 1-per cent VAT for the traders of informal sectors in the FY26 budget. Such a rate would bring transparency in the overall revenue management, reduce cost of doing business and have a positive impact on the manufacturing sector, it noted.
