LyondellBasell & Covestro to permanently close PO11 unit at Maasvlakte
LyondellBasell (LYB) and Covestro will permanently close the PO11 unit at Maasvlakte, Netherlands, due to global overcapacity, rising Asian imports, and high European costs. LYB will shut it down by 2026 while ensuring a smooth transition. Covestro remains committed to Europe. LYB is also reviewing its European O&P and I&D assets, with alternative ownership under consideration.
