STAT+: Device maker Zynex Medical under pressure from insurers, SEC filings show
Zynex Medical disclosed that an insurer, a major client, was suspending payments and reviewing prior claims.
TriCare, the federal health insurer for the military, has temporarily stopped paying the medical claims of pain management device maker Zynex Medical.
In a recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Zynex revealed that the government payer — which represents up to a quarter of Zynex’s annual revenue — was suspending payments as they reviewed prior claims. The company did not meet fourth quarter revenue expectations due to “slower than normal payments from certain payers,” according to another filing.
The Capitol Forum previously reported that TriCare removed Zynex from its network, citing former employees. Zynex did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
