US reciprocal tariffs on top textile & apparel exporting nations
From April 9, 2025, the US will impose steep reciprocal tariffs on leading textile and apparel exporters—India faces 26 per cent, the EU 20 per cent, and Vietnam 46 per cent. The move aims to address trade imbalances and revive US manufacturing, which has seen a sharp decline since 2001. Trump calls the tariffs ‘kind’ compared to existing foreign levies on US goods.
