And they work closely with the industry’s leading trade association including UKWA, Logistics UK, CIOE&IT, RFG, CILT, RHA and BIFA to ensure it stays topical. Robert Jervis, Event Director at Multimodal speaks to Warehouse & Logistics News.
What are your best-known products/solutions/services?
In our market – the Multimodal Exhibition – but we also run other events in the retail, defence and energy industries.
Which industry sectors are your customers in and which ones are growing fastest?
Our visitors come from the following sectors manufacturing, retail, agribusiness, chemical, automotive, electronics, FMCG, food & drink, fashion, pharmaceuticals, construction, aerospace, energy, real estate, recycling, paper/print, perishables and of course, from 3PLs.
What are your most recent products and innovations?
We have just announced a new AI Clinic for the show – presented in conjunction with Problems Solved. Visitors will be able to simply drop in and ask questions that have been perplexing them.
What are the major trends and developments affecting your category and your customers, and how are you responding?
Sustainability is, of course, a major topic. From an exhibition point of view – we are covering this extensively. Can you tell us about any recent customer contracts and how you helped the customer meet their challenges?
We have recently helped a large European-based contract logistics company launch their presence into the UK. They knew we had the reach into grocers and retailers that they needed.
How does business in 2025 compare to previous years? What’s your strategy for succeeding in the current climate?
2025 will be tougher than 2024. Tax rises, increased energy bills and high-ish interest rates will adversely affect consumer spending.
Are you investing in staff training and skills development?
We always do – this is a continual process across the board – in every function and every level of seniority.
