The AS Watson-owned drug store chain will also explore community store models with more than half its new stores to be located in third tier and smaller cities.
THE DETAILS Watsons is also planning to launch in-store beauty services such as manicures, hairstyling and facials, according to a report published by China Daily.
THE WHY? Watsons’ ambitions follow the State Council’s recently published plan to boost consumption, not to mention improved logistics in smaller cities improving both the feasibility of local stores.
