US retail sales see modest growth in Feb amid economic uncertainty
US retail sales rose 0.2 per cent MoM and 3.1 per cent YoY in February, following a January decline. Core retail sales grew 0.9 per cent MoM but fell 0.2 per cent YoY. The CNBC/NRF Retail Monitor showed mixed results. NRF's Jack Kleinhenz cited inflation concerns, economic policy shifts, and strong Q4 spending as factors. Despite softer spending, strong job growth supports consumer confidence.
