Japan’s BoJ leaves key interest rate unchanged, cautions about outlook

The Bank of Japan left its key interest rate unchanged today, cautioning about the economic outlook amid global uncertainty fuelled by the US tariff war. It had lifted it to a 17-year high of around 0.5 per cent in January. "There remain high uncertainties surrounding Japan's economic activity and prices, including the evolving situation regarding trade," it said after a monetary policy meeting.
