Canada’s PM-designate Mark Carney has vowed to win the trade war with the US. Canada will keep its initial retaliatory tariffs in place until “the Americans show us respect”, Carney, who won the race to succeed Justin Trudeau, said. “The Americans, they should make no mistake, in trade, as in hockey, Canada will win,” he said after the Liberal Party elected him its leader yesterday.
