The Couture Cocktail You Didn’t Know You Needed: Law Roach’s Luxury On Spring Street

Just in time for this week’s MET Gala and running throughout the month of May, Image Architect® Law Roach — the force behind Zendaya’s signature style — has collaborated with the stylish SoHo hotel The Dominick on the custom cocktail, the Luxury on Spring Street.

A true collaboration from start to finish, Law brought his latest fashion statement to life by selecting the ingredients, participating in the “fitting” process, naming the cocktail, and sharing its inspiration. The drink blends Johnnie Walker with Demerara, yellow dragon fruit syrup, orange bitters, and a turmeric tincture. As Law describes it, the cocktail is sultry like his style, colorful like his personality, and vibrant like all the places we aspire to visit.

Why do you think the cocktail is a fit for the fashion crowd?

It tastes like luxury.

Is this a drink for pre-event glam, post-event wind-down, or both? How do YOU enjoy it?

Everything! A good drink is good for every occasion.

Is there anything you’re dying to see or experience at this year’s Gala?

The looks, of course!

Why did you choose to collaborate with The Dominick for a cocktail?

They always make me feel like I am at home, whether I am staying there for a night or a month.

What is your inspiration behind the cocktail?

The cocktail is sultry like my style, colorful like my personality, and vibrant like all the places we aspire to visit.

What helps you feel grounded and get a good night’s sleep, especially during busy moments like fashion week or the MET Gala?

During the chaos of the MET Gala, having a place that feels like home is the difference between me feeling grounded or not, and The Dominick is just that!

Where are your go-to Soho spots to pop into between fittings or meetings?

Lure Fishbar, 2nd Street Vintage, Blue Ribbon Sushi, and Cipriani.

What’s the one thing you must have after the Gala winds down?

Cheddar & Sour Cream Ruffles + caviar.

HOW TO MAKE THE LUXURY ON SPRING STREET

Ingredients:
2.0 oz Johnnie Walker
0.25 oz Demerara
0.5 oz yellow dragon fruit syrup
4 dashes orange bitters
1 barspoon turmeric tincture (or atomized over top)
Glassware: Double Old Fashioned
Garnish: Expressed orange peel, clipped to the glass
Method: Stir all ingredients with ice until well chilled. Strain over a large, clear ice cube. Garnish and serve
