Sephora to open second Manchester store this summer

Sephora is expanding its presence in the north of England with a new store at Manchester Arndale, set to open this summer.

It follows the success of the French beauty giant’s Northern debut at the Trafford Centre last year, where over 2,000 shoppers queued up on opening day.

This will be the 10th store for the brand, which has been ramping up its store network in the UK and has more openings planned in Sheffield and Liverpool this year. Back in November, the retailer unveiled plans to open 20 stores.

At the time, CEO Guillaume Motte said he wanted to double the size of the company in Britain by launching new shops as well as expanding its online channel.

Sephora UK managing director Sarah Boyd said: “Manchester showed us phenomenal support when we opened our first store in the region, which blew away all our expectations.

“We are thrilled bringing a second beauty playground to our customers in this vibrant and culturally rich city, allowing us to reach even more shoppers with a city centre location at Arndale.

“We already know there is strong appetite from beauty enthusiasts in Manchester as we saw over 2000 eager customers queue on our opening day last year, and we look forward to recreating the same energy at Arndale and to continue providing an unparalleled beauty experience like no other.”
