THE WHAT? L’Oreal Colour Protect and Snapchat have announced a collaboration. The duo hosted an AR-powered beauty vending machine pop-up at Westfield White City in London, UK. Using a gamified Snapchat Lens, customers will be able to ‘lock in’ their colour to ‘unlock’ a free refill.
THE DETAILS According to a report published by Channel X, 81 percent of Snapchat users agree that AR can be a fun way to learn about a new product and are 1.6 times more likely to invite others to shop with them than other app users.
THE WHY? The collab is designed to promote L’Oreal’s newly launched refillable pouches. Channel X reports that the pop up’s key objective is to drive behaviour change, encouraging shoppers to refill their old shampoo bottles.
