“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Porsha Williams is continuing to battle with her estranged husband, Simon Guobadia, over their sprawling $7 million mansion.
The 42-year-old cast member is attempting to retain access and “revive” her and her ex’s Sandy Springs, GA, home, which has been at the center of a “really stressful” controversy—after Guobadia, who was born in Nigeria, was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
On the March 9 Season 16 premiere of the Bravo show, Williams—who shares 6-year-old daughter Pilar with ex Dennis McKinley—opened up about the divorce.
“Life doesn’t always have a fairy-tale ending. Things are getting really stressful with the divorce, and I’m trying to figure out the way forward,” she tells viewers.
Williams shocked fans when she revealed that she is still “married” to the 60-year-old, telling Andy Cohen that their divorce proceedings were “about to be over” when he was detained by ICE.
“I am still married. It was about to be over, and then unfortunately, he had been detained,” Williams told Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live.”
“Our last court date, he requested for it to be in person. I didn’t want it to be in person because I kind of knew the climate and unfortunately, he walked into it. But I think he’ll figure it out. I wish him well. I pray for him and his family, and maybe they can figure it out,” Williams added.

According to court records obtained by local channel WSB-TV 2, Guobadia came to the United States in 1982 and has faced immigration issues ever since. He has reportedly overstayed his visa twice, committed bank and credit card fraud, and been given permanent residency under an undisclosed identity after being deported.
Because of those reasons, his naturalized citizenship was denied and he is currently being held at the Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, GA, according to records reviewed by People magazine.
At the time that the news of his detainment was made public, Williams issued a statement on Instagram: “It’s disheartening to see my estranged husband make choices that have led to this outcome. At this moment my priority is moving forward with my family.”
At least part of her plan for moving forward involves regaining control of the $7 million mansion that she and Guobadia once shared—and which later became one of the biggest points of discussion during her divorce battle.
While they have yet to reach a settlement, which will determine how their shared assets should be divided, Williams is understood to have filed legal documentation that would prevent the sale of the home while the divorce proceedings are still ongoing.
According to records obtained by In Touch Weekly, Williams and her legal team filed a notice of Lis Pendens on Feb. 11, informing the county that the division of property has yet to be determined due to their ongoing battle.
Williams stated in the documents that she is “seeking division of each party’s rights, title and interest in and to said real property in accordance with the parties’ prenuptial agreement.” It is unclear what the specifics of the prenup are.

In a recent interview with Bravo TV, she appeared determined that she has a future in the home, telling the outlet that she has plans to “change up the energy” in the property.
“There [are] some things that I want to do to the house,” she said. “Just change up the energy and kind of revive it, and there are some things I want to do in separate rooms.”
In March 2024, the reality TV star requested that the court give her exclusive and temporary access to the property, which her former spouse fiercely objected to, claiming that she should move elsewhere.
However, the court sided with Williams and granted her temporary use of the abode and even allowed her to film “Real Housewives of Atlanta” there.
The five-bedroom, eight-bathroom home has long been a source of contention for the former couple, with InTouch revealing in June that even though Guobadia is not allowed to live at the address, he still has to pay the bills, including the mortgage, property taxes, and utilities.
He purchased the home in 2021, according to records, and the property remains in his name alone.
The home boasts 15,284 square feet of living space, which includes five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, an exercise room, an office, and a game room. It was built in 2018.

The nearly 2-acre grounds feature a glamorous courtyard, an in-ground pool with a pool house, and a landscaped green area. There’s also an outdoor cabana with a 200-inch screen—perfect for entertaining.
Inside, the main level is bright and spacious, with a great room, a formal dining room, and a chef’s kitchen.
The great room has a double-height ceiling, an interior balcony, and chandeliers. The high-end kitchen includes an extra-wide center island, an oversized window, and plenty of counter space. You can also expect Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances.
Two of the bedrooms and an in-law suite are on the lower level, while the remaining sleeping quarters are on the second floor—which you can easily access by elevator.
Each bedroom is oversized, with the main suite showcasing a huge sitting area with a fireplace (one of the property’s three) and a massive walk-in closet.
The main en suite bathroom is also in a league of its own, with dual vanities, a glass-encased shower, and enough room to fit a couch.
There’s also a putting green out back and a second-floor sunroom, which impressively has oversized windows on all four walls. Additional standout details include coffered ceilings, hardwood floors, and insulated windows throughout.
Designed by Paradise Builders and Logan Design Group, this Mediterranean-style home has it all.
Williams filed for divorce in February of this year after being married for 15 months. Since then, it’s been a legal battle punctuated by changed locks and emergency court hearings.
Williams originally joined the cast of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” in 2012 and was on the show until 2021 before rejoining the cast in 2024. She’s starred in the spinoff series “Porsha’s Family Matters” and published a memoir, “The Pursuit of Porsha.”
