Inquiry by New York congressman reveals frustration over UnitedHealth practices in Hudson Valley
A report by a New York congressman details consumer and employee grievances with UnitedHealth Group’s management of two medical groups

A scathing report released Thursday by a New York congressman details a litany of consumer and employee grievances with UnitedHealth Group’s management of medical groups in the state’s Hudson Valley region, where hundreds of people complained of billing problems, poor customer service, and an inability to get timely access to care and medicines.
The report, based on more than 1,800 responses to an online survey collected by U.S. Rep. Pat Ryan (D-N.Y.), describes a pattern of dysfunction and mismanagement that has undermined care of seriously ill patients, and left families struggling to schedule appointments, resolve overcharges, and get basic services.
