Costco Posts Q3 2025 Earnings and Revenue Beat, CFO Says Price Increases a ‘Last Resort’

Costco has long been a favorite of many cash-conscious shoppers, with the warehouse club having cultivated a reputation for both quality products and fair pricing standards.

That reputation seems to have paid dividends concerning U.S. consumers, according to CNBC, with Costco posting third-quarter results that saw it beat Wall Street projections on both revenue and earnings.

Costco reported earnings per share (EPS) of $4.28 for Q3 2025, against $4.24 anticipated by LSEG analysts. Concerning revenue, the warehouse club posted $63.21 billion versus $63.19 billion expected — a marginal beat, but a win nonetheless. In Q3 2024, revenue came in at $58.2 billion.

Net income was another sunny metric for the retailer in Q3 2025, pegged at $1.9 billion (approximately $4.28 per share), a significant gain over year-prior quarterly figures of $1.68 billion, or $3.78 per share.

On a May 29 earnings call, CEO Ron Vachris indicated that, despite the pressure exerted on its business by tariffs instituted by President Donald Trump, Costco would be working hard to maintain its low-cost pricing model.

“We’re going to continue to invest in price. It’s what we do. It’s how we grow our business, and we’re going to continue to try and mitigate as much of this impact on tariffs as we can for our members,” Vachris said, per MarketWatch. “It’s full force ahead on lowering prices where we can.”

CFO Gary Millerchip also chimed in on the matter, stating that price increases were “always seen as a last resort.”

Costco Stock Gains After Sunny Q3 2025 Earnings Report

Investors seemed bolstered by Costco’s financial report card and bullish earnings call from company execs, with the blue-and-red brand’s share price gaining 4.08% in value as of 3 p.m. ET on May 30.

Even before the third-quarter earnings report was published, UBS analyst Michael Lasser published a research note indicating that Costco remained a good buy in the eyes of market experts.

“There’s probably not a lot that can come from this print that will change the market’s perception that [Costco] is a good place to be,” Lasser wrote last week.
