THE WHAT? The Estee Lauder Companies has announced that it is launching its The Ordinary brand in China. Deciem’s signature brand hit shelves in Sephora China this week and will debut on Tmall and Douyin this summer.
THE DETAILS The brand will launch with a line comprising its best-sellers as well as some products created with the Chinese shopper in mind.
THE WHY? Deciem Global Brand President, Jesper Rasmussen, told WWD, “China is the second largest beauty market in the world behind the US and it took time to make sure we were big enough to get to that level, and we’re launching with a very strong assortment in China with some adaptation of the products and some new ones as well.”
