The Louis Vuitton Spring Men’s Capsule Explores Music Through A Kaleidoscopic Lens

Pharrell Williams has unveiled the Louis Vuitton Spring Men’s capsule collection, focusing on synaesthesia, a phenomenon that enriches human ways of sensing. Williams expresses this intuitive correlation through the mid-season wardrobe that aims to transform music into color and form through an array of overflowing patterns and intricate prints.

This approach is proposed through an intricate palette contrasting rich neutrals with vivid formations of color. Inherent to Williams’ creative direction for the House, this capsule explores the kaleidoscopic palette through Williams’ signature blend of preppy dress codes with streetwear culture. Imbued with the spirit of spring, the collection comprises a transitional wardrobe characterized by elegant ease when casual meets preppy tailoring.

Looking through the lens of synaesthesia, Louis Vuitton’s infamous iconography arrives through vibrant colors. Their Flower Monogram features a multi-color gradient gracing a collarless jacket, a hooded blouson, and elasticated shirts. The motif also appears on elevated knitwear, such as a purple cardigan and turquoise jumper. The LV Blason Monogram takes form in polychromatic all-over embroidery on a coordinating denim jacket and trouser set and on the lampasses of a relaxed black suit. At the same time, the House’s Damier pattern appears to fade in color on a preppy silk bowling set and a smart denim cargo suit.

Throughout the collection, rainbow hues animate the accents of tonal garments. A black-and-white souvenir jacket and knitted cardigan features color gradients, while multi-colored Louis Vuitton logos stun on a varsity jacket with monogram suede details. Neutral-colored pieces create a contrast to the collection’s vibrant color formations with a black leather jacket, a camel Harrington blouson with tonal Damier sleeves, and a black tracksuit with black-and-white diamond-patterned trims.

The colorful iconography continues throughout the capsule’s accessories. The LV Blason Denim features the embroidered logo on a Speedy 40 and Montsouris backpack, and the Taigarama bags arrive with the Monogram in bright nuances across Pulse bags and icons like the Keepall, Discovery and Slim backpacks, a Wallet Trunk, and Horizon trolley. Highlighting the collection’s musical value, the capsule also features a Baladeur, a Music Player bag, and a LV Tape card holder. As for shoes, the capsule features the LV Checker is seen on a derby and a Mary-Jane, the LV Trainer is seen throughout various fabrications like a Damier-embossed brown nubuck and Monogram-printed translucent PVC. The LV Venice Sandal provides a warm weather touch to the Louis Vuitton Spring Men’s collection.
