Tesco F&F clothing and home managing director Jan Marchant is retiring from the grocery giant after nearly two decades.
Marchant, who joined the retailer in 2007, will be succeeded by H&M Group executive Katja Ahola Klamkin in the coming months, Drapers reported.
Marchant started her career as Tesco’s F&F buying director, before being promoted to design directing in 2014 and creative and digital director in 2017.
She became the clothing division’s chief executive in 2020 and later, the managing director of clothing and home in 2022.
Marchant’s successor Klamkin has spent the last 27 years at H&M holding various roles, including head of global expansion, head of merchandising and country manager of Italy.
She is the current managing director of its lifestyle business unit, leading H&M Home, H&M Move and H&M Beauty.
Tesco chief commercial officer Ashwin Prasad told the title: “Jan has made an incredible contribution to the business. She has led the home and clothing team with product expertise and passion to offer Tesco customers the latest trends and styles that are stylish, affordable, accessible and wearable for everyday life.
“This is most notably seen in the design and launch of our exciting F&F Home range; our partnership with The Entertainer; and the purchase of the Paperchase brand.
“Katja Ahola Klamkin has a strong all-round commercial and retail leadership profile across numerous leadership roles, disciplines and geographical locations within H&M Group. She brings with her a real wealth of experience and deep expertise across both home and clothing.”
