Seasonally-adjusted US CPI-U up 0.5% in Jan 2025; apparel index down
The US consumer price index for all urban consumers (CPI-U) increased by 0.5 per cent on a seasonally-adjusted basis in January this year after rising by 0.4 per cent in December. The index for all items less food and energy rose by 0.4 per cent in January. The indices for apparel (minus 1.4 per cent) and household furnishings were among the few major indices that decreased in January.
