Ram trucks have performed decently in reliability rankings in recent times, but the automaker is taking steps to boost buyers’ confidence in its vehicles. The company announced a new ten-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty for its vehicles, saying that it “reflects Ram’s commitment to long-term vehicle quality as more buyers opt for extended loan terms.”

Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis said, “Everything is more expensive, and trucks are certainly no exception. Truck buyers are financing purchases for longer periods of time, with nearly 80% of new truck loans exceeding five years. Our customers are making a long-term investment in Ram, and with America’s best full-size truck limited powertrain warranty, Ram is making a stronger and longer commitment to our customers.”
The new warranty covers the “engine, transmission, transfer case, driveshafts, differentials, and axles,” starting with model-year 2026 Ram vehicles. Coverage extends to individual purchases and leases, as well as fleet orders.

While the extra protection is great for Ram buyers, it shows that the automaker is looking for ways to increase value without cutting prices. A significant chunk of Ram’s supply chain comes from domestic parts and components, but it still relies on a pile of imported goods that could be impacted by recent tariff changes. Ram already had a pretty solid reliability rating, so the warranty is a good way to boost value without radically increasing costs.
