Primark reveals opening date for first standalone homewares store

Primark is set to open its first standalone homewares store in Belfast city centre on 6 March.

The 8,700sq ft Primark Home will be located in Fountain House, just over 100 yards from the retailer’s flagship Bank Buildings store.

It will stock some of the high street giant’s most popular homeware items, including bedding, towels, ceramics and small furniture.

With the launch of a separate store for its Home concept, the retailer said it will expand the kids section at the Bank Buildings store and move menswear to its own dedicated space on the top floor of the building.

Head of Primark Ireland and Northern Ireland Fintan Costello said: “This is a big moment for the Primark brand and a big moment for Belfast too as we finally announce the opening date of our first-ever standalone Primark Home store.

“Primark and Belfast have a storied history and we’re incredibly proud the city will be the first in the world to experience this exciting new retail concept.

“In the same way our fashion collections are helping create wardrobes that look and feel great, Primark Home will offer a wider range of quality homeware and lifestyle products to help our customers create stand-out interiors.”

The Primark Home shop is the second new concept that the retailer has launched in recent months and follows the opening of its new small-format store in Montijo, Portugal in November.
