InPost snaps up Yodel to become UK’s third biggest courier
InPost has snapped up delivery courier Yodel, making it the third-largest agnostic logistics player in the country.

InPost has snapped up delivery courier Yodel, making it the third-largest logistics player in the country.
This move is set to redefine delivery in the UK by integrating out-of-home with to-door solutions under one brand, according to the retailer.
It is set to scale InPost’s operations, expand its service offering, and provide greater convenience to retailers and shoppers.
Following the transaction, the Polish logistic company’s UK’s market share rose to around 8%.
The acquisition builds on the partnership established between InPost and Yodel in October 2024, when Yodel began providing last-mile services via InPost’s “locker-to-door” service.
Additionally, the move will allow InPost to achieve several key strategic objectives, including accelerating its UK growth and market share expansion, providing a unique offering for merchants, granting diversification benefits, and providing attractive deal economics.
InPost group CEO and founder Rafał Brzoska said: “This acquisition marks a pivotal milestone in InPost’s journey to revolutionise the UK delivery market as well as the group pan-European presence.
“We have just fast-forwarded 5 years of organic expansion in the UK and it is a clear reflection of our long-term commitment to this market, a market where we see enormous opportunity for growth.”
He continued: “Our logistics model has transformed delivery in other European markets, and with this acquisition, we are now well positioned to do the same here.”
It comes after Yodel and rival delivery courier Evri were named as the worst parcel firms for helping shoppers in October.
Yodel was ranked second bottom, with a satisfaction score of 38%, having performed “below average” across some elements of its customer contact processes.
In December, Yodel also urged customers to turn to rival delivery couriers as it experienced a Christmas capacity crisis.
