Master Drilling, De Beers’ Element Six partner on advanced tunnel development technology
Polycrystalline diamond (PCD) and ultra-hard materials developer and manufacturer Element Six (E6), which is part of the De Beers Group, and drilling and mechanised rock excavation technology solutions provider Master Drilling have announced a new global partnership on advanced tunnel development technology. The collaboration combines E6’s leading patented PCD cutting technology with Master Drilling’s fully mechanised services for the mining, infrastructure and energy sectors to deliver a new synthetic diamond-enabled tunnelling solution, with a reduction of more than 17% in waste rock generation compared with traditional tunnelling operations.
