Total UK retail sales in discretionary spend categories grew by 2.3 per cent in February, according to BDO, which said actual in-store sales volumes in lifestyle and fashion categories shrank YoY. Retailers faced particularly challenging conditions in store, with growth of just 1.2 per cent against a 2-per cent drop in February 2024. In-store fashion retailers saw no growth at all in February.
