Asda has completed a £2m transformation of its Pilsworth store in Bury, marking the supermarket’s largest single-store investment in several years.

The produce section now includes new low-level chilled units, and a dedicated wine and spirits zone has been added. The supermarket’s George and general merchandise departments have also been modernised.

The store is also the first to display Asda’s Rewards Digital Sampling Vending Machine, where members of its loyalty scheme can try newly launched products from the supermarket’s branded partners by scanning their Asda Rewards ID at the machine.

The Pilsworth store café is the first of the supermarket chain’s to be transformed into its new ‘Asda Kitchen’ format, offering a modern dining experience with a coffee shop atmosphere.

Customers will be able order via a manned till, a kiosk, or a QR code to have their food delivered to their table.

Asda Pilsworth general store manager Dan Grindrod said: “After months of hard work from all involved, we’re excited to welcome the local community into our newly upgraded Pilsworth store.

“This investment has enabled us to create a modern shopping environment that makes it easier for the customers we serve to find the products and value they’ve come to expect from Asda.”
