Dunelm hails ‘strong growth’ as digital sales and new ranges boost performance

Dunelm has reported strong sales growth for the 13-week period ending 29 March 2025, with total sales rising by 6.3% to £462m.

The retailer said its positive performance was driven by broad-based growth across both homewares and furniture categories, alongside a solid start to its new Spring/Summer ranges.

Digital sales also showed progress, making up 41% of total sales—up from 37% in the same period last year.

Gross margin improved by 30 basis points year-on-year, and full-year guidance remains unchanged at 51.5%–52.0%. Profit before tax for FY25 is expected to be in line with analyst consensus, with a forecast of £208m.

Dunelm CEO Nick Wilkinson said: “We’ve had a good third quarter, with strong growth and further strategic progress. The Dunelm brand continues to attract a broad range of customers, offering outstanding value and quality, and we’re really pleased with how our new ranges are being received.

“We remain committed to driving market share gains through growth across all our channels. March saw the opening of Dunelm’s 200th store in Merthyr Tydfil, an exciting milestone, and we continue to see new opportunities, filling ‘white space’ in our physical estate through a variety of store formats. At the same time, we’re improving customers’ digital experience, including through Click & Collect, which has continued to gain momentum.

“Our customers are now enjoying getting their homes and gardens ready for summer, and we’re focused on being as relevant as possible for the warmer months ahead. We remain very mindful of the wider backdrop and the impact of increased uncertainty on consumer sentiment, but maintain our focus on strengthening Dunelm’s position as The Home of Homes.”

The homewares specialist said it also continues to invest in expanding its store network, opening two new stores in Q3, including a superstore in Merthyr Tydfil.

The retailer also acquired a freehold property in Kingston upon Thames, which is expected to open in FY26.

It added that the rollout of self-service tills continues, with plans to install them in over 100 stores by the end of FY26.
