Clothing top sliding contributor to monthly UK CPI annual rate change
The UK CPI rose by 2.8 per cent in the 12 months to February—down from 3 per cent in the 12 months to January. On a monthly basis, CPI rose by 0.4 per cent compared with a 0.6-per cent rise in February 2024. The largest downward contribution to the monthly change in CPI annual rate came from clothing. Overall clothing and footwear prices fell by 0.6 per cent in the 12 months to February 2025.
