THE WHAT? Henkel has voluntarily recalled a batch of its Tec Italy Shampoo. The German FMCG manufacturer said the product had tested positive for klebsiella oxytoca.
THE DETAILS According to a report published by The Daily Mail, the 1,068 units were manufactured in Mexico and destined for distribution in US salons. No adverse events have been reported to date.
THE WHY? The Daily Mail reports that the bacteria can be deadly if it enters the bloodstream but the recall was designated Class II, which defines the probability of serious adverse heakth consequences as ‘remote’.
