Boots expands rapid midnight delivery across London stores

Boots has expanded its on-demand delivery service in London, allowing customers to order health and beauty essentials until midnight.

The extended hours are currently being trialled in ten of the retailer’s busiest central London stores, serving over two million customers.

Boots said the move is designed to cater to growing demand for convenience and immediate access to products, particularly outside of traditional retail hours.

The health and beauty giant now offers nearly 10,000 products via Uber Eats and Deliveroo, with some deliveries arriving in as little as 20 minutes. Top-selling items include cold and flu remedies, pregnancy tests, baby formula and last-minute gifts such as fragrance and premium beauty products.

Boots chief digital officer Paula Bobbett said: “We know our customers’ lives don’t stop at 6pm, and neither should their access to essentials – whether that’s medicine for a poorly child, a forgotten gift, or an evening skincare top-up.

“By extending our instant delivery hours through Uber Eats and Deliveroo, we’re giving customers more flexibility and convenience when they need it most.”

The ten stores trialling midnight delivery include: Kensington High Street, Clapham Falcon Lane, Islington High Street, Camden High Street, Chiswick High Road, Wembley High Road, Kilburn High Road, Uxbridge Chimes, Tottenham Court Road, and Enfield Shopping Precinct.

Boots first launched on Deliveroo in 2021, with Uber Eats added in 2023. The midnight delivery trial marks the latest move in the retailer’s investment in digital and delivery innovation.

Customers in London can check their local availability by visiting the Uber Eats or Deliveroo apps.
