Bending At Its Best

Trumpf, bending, Flex CellThe Flex Cell gives fabricators a quick and easy way to automate the TruBend 7050, TRUMPF’s fastest bending machine. The Flex Cell’s mobile robot cell can be docked to the TruBend 7050 bending machine in just a few simple steps, rapidly increasing production capacity for simple parts. And now TRUMPF has made this solution even better. Let’s look at some of the key highlights.

1. Flexible and Scalable

The flexible concept allows fabricators to switch between manual press brake production and full robot automation in less than 20 minutes. This allows for smaller volumes and more complex parts to be run manually, and for the robot to take over the higher volumes and more simple parts.

2. Precision from the First Stroke

The TruBend 7050 now offers higher quality bending thanks to a new method of Automatically Controlled Bending (ACB) integrated within the machine. “ACB Smart” takes springback into account, which is a critical factor in a precise bend. It looks up the springback parameters for each material in a comprehensive database. This enables the TruBend 7050 to find exactly the right bending angle in just one stroke, saving time and boosting productivity.

3. Efficient Material Flow

Trumpf, bending, Flex CellThe Flex Cell conveys bent parts along a belt to increase efficiency. This gentle mode of transport also protects the parts from scratches. In addition, the conveyor can be used to automatically eject larger parts. Alternatively, the system can also be equipped with a part chute instead of a conveyor, for simple drop off into a box. Additional mobile loading carts open up possibilities for pre-staging of the next jobs outside the system, while the robot is running.

4. High Load Capacity in Minimal Space

Despite having a small footprint of less than 50 square feet, the mobile robotic cell offers a load capacity of 2,645 pounds for flat sheets, which sets up the system to be able to cover multiple shifts of unattended runtime.

5. Electromechanical Drive for Efficiency, Precision and Durability

Trumpf, bending, Flex CellThe TruBend 7050 is one of TRUMPF’s fastest electric press brakes. The press brake’s electromechanical drive (high-torque motor) significantly reduces energy consumption while ensuring that the machine works quickly and accurately. It also leads to lower maintenance costs and has a longer service life than other drive systems.
