Australian retail turnover rises 0.2% in February, online sales surge

Australian retail turnover rose 0.2 per cent in February 2025 and 3.6 per cent year-on-year, with department stores (+1.5 per cent) and online sales (+1.7 per cent) driving growth. Household goods fell 0.3 per cent, led by a sharp drop in textile goods and homewares. Western Australia led state gains (+0.8 per cent). Online retail made up 11.5 per cent of total sales.
