Home beer technology specialists Pinter have teamed up with Guinness so beer lovers can recreate a "heritage-inspired recipe" at home.

The recipe has been inspired by Arthur Guinness' original brewing books and is named the Dublin Porter Brewers Edition.
The original Guinness Dublin Porter was based on a recipe dating from 1796. It was
revived back in 2014 when the beer was recreated as part of a brewing project at the St James’s Gate Brewery in Dublin based on recipes found in its former brewers’ diaries.
Speaking to
the drinks business, Pinter founder and CEO Ralph Broadbent said: "We spent a very big part of our lives developing what we hope is the best home beer experience in the world. As we went through this journey over the last decade we saw the world evolving and changing - it started off with premiumisation of the product but actually where we are today, it's premiumisation of the whole experience.”
The recipe claims to offer “a sweet, smooth beer that is deep and rich, with a hint of ruby red” which “delivers a smooth mouthfeel, hints of caramel mixed with elegant hops and the same roasted Irish barley, loved by Guinness drinkers around the world”.
Describing the collaboration with Pinter, Guinness global head of quality Steve Gilsenan, said: “This partnership represents another step in a long history of Guinness innovations as we strive to provide unrivalled quality and beautiful Guinness to every occasion.”
Broadbent told
db: “Whether it's making pizzas at home in cutting edge pizza ovens or immersive brand experiences like Guinness's Store House or even the rise of tap rooms - the experience has become such a bigger part of the beer world. We feel it's timely that as Pinter makes its mark on the world in this rapidly growing area with our best in class technology - that we are absolutely honoured to be able to work with the most iconic beer brand of all time - to make a truly unprecedented beer experience."
