#WeekInPictures: Kylie, sake and Welsh spirit

From garden-top glamour to Japanese reimaginings and copper-fuelled cocktails, here’s what caught our eye this week.

Kylie’s rooftop toast

Kylie's rooftop toast: #WeekInPictures: Kylie, sake and Welsh spirit To celebrate five years of Kylie Minogue Wines and 20 million bottles sold, the pop icon revealed a limited-edition floral bottle of her Côtes de Provence Rosé at Kensington Roof Gardens. Launched on 28 May and coinciding with her birthday, the design honours the brand’s success across 32 countries and venues like Annabel’s and Bemelmans Bar NYC. Kylie raised a glass with Benchmark Drinks MD Paul Schaafsma.

A Welsh revival at Copperworks

Katherine Jenkins OBE hosted a star-studded midsummer soirée at the newly restored Copperworks Distillery in Swansea, home to Cygnet Gin. The night celebrated Welsh craftsmanship with a menu by National Chef of Wales Sam Everton, timed between World Gin Day and International Martini Day. Cygnet and Penderyn cocktails flowed, marking a new chapter for Welsh spirits ahead of 2026’s World Chef Expo.

Burgundy in London

Domaine Chanson’s MD Vincent Avenel presented a vertical tasting of top Premier Crus over lunch at Bentley’s, including Clos des Mouches Blanc and Clos des Feves. The event showcased the estate’s evolving style and winemaking direction.

Sip Japan rewrites the sake rulebook

At Noren Sake & Sushi Bar in Mayfair, Tengu Sake’s Oliver Hilton-Johnson launched “Sip Japan,” a sake-paired supperclub that challenged every expectation. From scallop crudo with Szechuan salt to crab agnolotti with rich umami notes, diners experienced sake’s extraordinary range. No rice served, no rules followed, just pure, revelatory pairings. The next edition lands in September.
