Logistics giant DB Schenker is collaborating with Microsoft Cloud Logistics on the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and sustainable marine fuel (SMF). DB Schenker is no stranger to pursuing partnerships and projects focused on ensuring a sustainable future for the logistics industry. One recent example saw the company join forces with Trailer Dynamics and Contemporary Amperex Technology Ltd (CATL) to begin work on a groundbreaking initiative aimed at implementing battery-swapping technology (BST) for electric trailers in Europe.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has created the Civil Aviation Decarbonisation Organisation (CADO), which will oversee the future of SAF. Right now, the scaling of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) is one of the aerospace sector’s topmost priorities. While SAF is being used by airlines in 2025, the amount available is nowhere close to the amount required to sustain air travel at its current rate.

As the world expects every industry to be greener, it has never been more important for warehouses to become more sustainable.
