Tatiana Kalinina, VP of Business Development, Dexory, tells Warehouse & Logistics News about the company’s new module announced at LogiMAT and how Dexory is helping its clients embrace sustainability.
How has LogiMAT been for you?
It has been great, really interesting, really fulfilling, not just for myself and sales but across the wider team. We have representation from the product and marketing side here as well. It’s a conference that we want to be coming back to. We have seen a definite upward trajectory in terms of our presence here and how we are received by the audience.
What products and services are Dexory highlighting at the show?
This is a really important milestone for us because we are releasing a new module within our offering. We consider our base solution entry point into the market to be about stock integrity, inventory automation and reconciliation. Now we are expanding into a new area which is very important when you look at the warehouse operations more holistically and optimise them. We look at other angles within the warehouse, including inventory layout but not limited to just layout types. Considering these angles, we look at how to optimise the warehouse to maximise throughput and space occupancy.
What challenges are the visitors to your stand facing?
I would probably have to segment by industry. We are very fortunate to operate across the spectrum of sectors, and we understand if you come from pharma, for example, there are taller asks from a compliance perspective, for example to expiry dates and temperature ranges. If you come from manufacturing, inventory accuracy is absolutely critical and there is an immediate quantifiable impact when you drop below 100%.
Outside of that, we work with 3PLs a lot, leading global 3PLs but also specialised 3PLs. For them it’s always that dichotomy to get the correct balance between embracing and adopting the latest technology and innovation but also making it meaningfully impactful on the key KPIs they are driving and on the ROI. It is ensuring that the tightrope is walked in the right way.
What is Dexory’s core business?
DexoryView is a warehouse intelligence platform. For us, intelligence and data are the core factors. Data is twofold: it is data collection so our customers can have meaningful data going in. That means the integrity of the data in real time so the timing of the data, how holistically rich it is. The second part is how you analyse it and derive insights from it. That’s our core, everything else is multiple use cases and applications on top that we are continuously building. Stock reconciliation is step one and we are already far beyond that.
How is inventory management keeping up with technology, including AI?
Dexory’s approach to warehousing automation is at the forefront of embracing those trends and technologies, we believe. To do well it takes time, it takes a certain granularity of input and dedication. Time will tell and we will see which of the players will do it properly and honour the full output rather than just the latest buzzword. That’s what we aim to do, we would like to produce a meaningful output that enriches the industry.
How are you embracing sustainability and helping your clients embrace sustainability?
For us, it’s about helping our customers and end users fare better regarding sustainability. It’s about removing repetitive actions that are unnecessary. Especially heavy-duty actions like driving forklifts, looking for pallets, which is not their primary duty. Making the provision for us to be able to operate out of hours, so you are consuming less energy, less electricity, you are not keeping people for those longer shifts. We can operate in a dark warehouse. All of this allows our customers to make their sustainability KPIs better.
What sets your company apart from the competition?
Our core differentiator is the fact that the data richness is unparalleled. The way we collect the data in real time and we get the output in the software very quickly gives it that increased meaningful edge. If you consider the fact that we are processing 4 gigabytes of data a second, with the different angles of application you can derive from that, especially once overlaid with AI, that’s a powerful offering that we carry into the market and bring to our customers.
Dexory’s new optimisation module will give its clients the ability to make the best use of every square inch of space in the warehouse, while its work in improving its customers’ sustainability KPIs will benefit the whole planet.
