Twinplast develops casing range for batteries

Twinplast, a leading manufacturer of bespoke corrugated polypropylene solutions, has expanded its product range with the development of packaging and casing solutions for industrial batteries.

The company is utilising its in-house technical team and advanced factory facilities to supply custom products for the transportation and protection of batteries used in heavy-duty applications such as forklift trucks. The casing is designed and manufactured to prevent physical damage, chemical leakage and short circuiting while withstanding environmental factors that could compromise the integrity of the battery.

Tim Steer, commercial director at Twinplast, said:

“Developing a presence in the industrial batteries market was a natural move for Twinplast. Corrugated polypropylene has a range of attributes that is uniquely suited to meet performance requirements, standards and regulations which apply to battery casing – it has excellent electrical insulation and strong resistance to physical impact, heat, chemicals and water which are common risks to the safety and condition of electrical goods. It is also recyclable and extremely versatile in forming bespoke shapes, enabling custom designs which minimise or eliminate movement within a package, as well as being lighter in weight compared to other commonly used materials, thereby reducing transportation costs. Our polypropylene solutions utilise those advantages to reduce risk and increase efficiency in the supply chain.”

Toby Garrett, managing director at Twinplast, said:

“Twinplast can also bring our in-house printing facilities to the table, enabling clients to source custom-branded solutions. The market has been very receptive to the development of these new products, and we have already signed a distribution agreement with a leading supplier of battery components and accessories. We expect this to be one of the fastest-growing areas of our business in the next few years.”

Based near Dunstable, Twinplast offers the widest range of corrugated polypropylene products in the market.  The company supplies major UK businesses and organisations across a wide range of sectors including FMCG, retail, horticultural, construction, industrial, healthcare, packaging, logistics and pharmaceutical. The post Twinplast develops casing range for batteries first appeared on Warehouse & Logistics News.
