Serving the warehouse sector

Hörmann UK have announced that they have expanded their Construction Project range of doors to include insulated hinged and sliding doors for cold rooms and freezers. Suitable for cold rooms at temperatures as low as 0°C and for freezers at –28°C the doors are ideal for use in cold storage facilities, supermarkets and in the food processing industry. The cold storage doors HID-80 (hinged) and HIS-80 (sliding) are manufactured with an 80mm thick door leaf that is foamed with polyurethane (PU), with both doors featuring bespoke sealing technology to prevent energy loss.

External high-speed doors must endure outdoor conditions like wind, rain, and temperature fluctuations. Stertil’s FlexiEdge external doors, for example, feature reinforced curtains and patented side guides to withstand strong winds, whilst weatherproof materials ensure durability. Internal high-speed doors, by contrast, focus on maintaining climate control within the facility and are often used in cleanrooms, temperature-controlled areas, or production zones, where speed, noise reduction, and energy efficiency are paramount.

EFAFLEX specified a SST-260 for a client with a large fleet of cars and vans for hire, as the perfect solution to replace the slower, less insulated, less secure, roller shutter to help secure and improve their facility. The EFA-SST is a high-speed spiral door that represents a new generation of industrial doors, delivering on all fronts; insulation, energy- saving, functionality, and state of the art technology. It is ideal as an exterior door, that requires fast opening and closing speeds (2.5m/s and 1.0m/s respectively), and capable of up to 250,000 operating cycles per year.

BID Group’s Klimate K2 High Speed Freezer Doors offer a robust and reliable solution for cold storage needs. Designed for impact resistance, energy efficiency, and consistent performance, the K2 Freezer Door is built to withstand the demanding requirements of industrial freezer environments while enhancing operational flow and product protection. With a high-speed operation of up to 1.5 metres per second, this door allows for rapid access, supporting efficient traffic flow while minimising the loss of cooled air.

It’s great to see the door suppliers hard at work, helping warehouses become ever more efficient and productive.
