15 years of success for Cimcorp’s Dream Factory

In the same year that Cimcorp marks its 50-year anniversary, the company is celebrating 15 years of its Dream Factory solution for tyre plants.

Veli-Matti Hakala, CEO of Cimcorp.

Dream Factory is a turnkey solution for intralogistics automation in tyre factories. The robotic solution, powered by intelligent software, seamlessly connects and optimises all machines and processes, from tyre building to order fulfilment. Dream Factory has helped tyre manufacturers worldwide to eliminate bottlenecks, reduce waste and future-proof their operations. Its success has contributed hugely to Cimcorp’s total of 309 solutions delivered to date in the tyre and automotive space.

An end-to-end solution

Over its 50-year history, Cimcorp has supplied automation solutions across 25 industries, with the tyre industry becoming a particular focus from the early 2000s. The first tyre customer was Nokian in 2001 and, by 2008, the tyre industry had become Cimcorp’s most important sector.

Early projects focused on automating individual areas of tyre plants but Cimcorp soon realised that factories were using disconnected systems, causing bottlenecks, errors and waste. “We knew tyre makers needed a complete system with modular design, redundancy and minimal space requirements,” explains Veli-Matti Hakala, CEO. “We expanded our software to connect entire processing areas, integrating our robotic systems with the tyre factory’s process machinery. Here, our Dream Factory concept was born.”

The Dream Factory solution ensures maximum output, production flexibility, real-time quality control and traceability. Suitable for greenfield or brownfield projects, its modular design also enables installation in selected areas – such as systems for handling green tyres or finished tyres – or phased implementation across an entire plant.

The first fully integrated Dream Factory solution was delivered to a major tyre manufacturer in India in 2010. By 2015, Cimcorp had partnered with 14 of the top 25 tyre manufacturers globally. Further projects at Tigar in Serbia and Qingdao Sentury Tire in Thailand demonstrated the versatility of the solution across companies and markets. Today, Cimcorp has completed projects for all of the world’s top ten tyre manufacturers.

“Our success has been about learning and sustainable growth,” says Veli-Matti Hakala, “and we’ve become much more than a technology supplier. We’re a true automation partner, here to lend our expertise from day one on every project.”

Continuous innovation

Dream Factory has been the focus of continuous investment and enhancement over its 15-year life. In 2015, Cimcorp introduced an improved Dream Factory design that incorporated the handling of raw materials and compounds to optimise upstream processes. The enhanced solution secured key projects with clients including Petlas, Giti and Iris (Eurl Saterex).

Over the years, the role of Cimcorp’s software in optimising production has grown exponentially. One of the company’s most impactful innovations has been the Tyre Production Dashboard (TPD), which brings data from all machines, systems and devices under one umbrella to provide tyre makers with real-time insights.

Dream Factory has redefined efficiency, flexibility and scalability in tyre manufacturing. Cimcorp is committed to enhancing the solution with emerging technologies – including AI and digital twin modelling – to meet the needs of tyre companies as they respond to evolving trends, such as growing volumes of electric vehicles and increased sustainability demands.

“Our mission remains delivering innovative, future-proof solutions that help tyre makers thrive in a changing world,” says Veli-Matti Hakala.
