Vietnam to impose VAT on low-value imports sent via express delivery
Low-value imports sent via express delivery services will not qualify for a VAT exemption in Vietnam from February 18. The decision aligns the country’s tax policies with global practices, ensures consistency within the tax regulatory system and follows the state’s policy direction of expanding the tax base, GDC said. It is also expected to create fair competition between local and imported goods.
