Masquerading as a studious physics graduate, the hulking Harlem-born Jew listened attentively to the keynote speaker, the Nobel-prize winning German physicist Werner Heisenberg. His instructions were straightforward. Should Heisenberg say anything indicative of the success of the covert Nazi nuclear program with which he was intimately involved, Berg was to whip out his carefully concealed .45 caliber pistol and summarily execute him in the midst of the auditorium.
