Space Nk to open Oxford Circus flagship

Space NK is set to open a new central London store on the city’s iconic Oxford Street.

The 4600 sq ft store at 214 Oxford Circus will feature the retailer’s new purpose-built beauty experience concept and stock its range of luxury beauty and skincare brands.

Space NK promised the London flagship will allow customers “to explore the very best that beauty has to offer”.

The unit is currently occupied by Ikea’s Hus of Frakta, a pop-up dedicated to the Swedish furniture giant’s iconic blue bag ahead of its highly anticipated opening. The space runs until March 2025.

Space NK’s move into Oxford Circus follows its announcement last month of plans to open three new UK stores and expand an existing location this year, as part of its ongoing growth strategy.

The new stores will be located in Bluewater Shopping Centre, Chelmsford, and Leicester, with the first store set to open in Bluewater in April 2025.

On the Oxford Street flagship, CEO Andy Lightfoot said: “An iconic location for our new central London flagship store.

“The mission with our flagship to push boundaries once again on what can be achieved with an instore shopping experience – and another page in the story of Space NK, as well celebrate 30 years a leading British beauty retailer

Ingka Investments head of real estate investments Jenna Grader said: “At Ingka Investments, we are committed to securing strategic locations for IKEA Retail that create meaningful and accessible shopping destinations for the many people.

“The Oxford Circus site is a key part of our vision for the future of retail, and we welcome Space NK to this dynamic location as they bring their own unique customer experience to the area.”

The new addition to the city’s most famous shopping district comes as Topshop teased a potential return to bricks-and-mortar retail on London’s Oxford Street earlier this week.

The popular fashion retailer shared a video on Instagram featuring London Mayor Sadiq Khan calling for the brand to make a comeback to the famous shopping destination.
