Bangladesh signs pacts with 2 Japanese firms for deep sea port upgrade
Bangladesh’s Chattogram Port Authority has signed an agreement with two Japanese firms to upgrade infrastructure at the Matarbari Deep Sea Port. The project will be jointly financed by CPA and the Japan International Cooperation Agency. By 2029, the port is expected to handle 0.6-1.1 million TEUs annually, with capacity projected to reach 2.2-2.6 million TEUs by 2041.
