Primark boosts US presence with new Virginia store

Primark is expanding  with the launch of a new store at Potomac Mills in Woodbridge, Virginia next month.

Opening 10 April, the 32,000sq ft store will feature the retailer’s latest collections of clothing, homewares, and beauty items.

This new location marks Primark’s second store in Virginia, following the opening at Tysons Corner Center last year. With this new addition, Primark will operate 30 stores across 12 states in the US.

To mark the opening weekend, the retailer will host a series of events. Customers will be able toP enjoy local treats, special giveaways, including a bouquet bar with fresh flowers available on a first-come, first-served basis, and live DJ performances.

US president Kevin Tulip said: “Since Primark opened stores in Maryland and Virginia, just outside the nation’s capital, we’ve seen a strong demand for more of the joy that Primark brings to local shoppers.

“We are gearing up to open our doors at Potomac Mills, and are excited to bring a new community of DMV shoppers more of Primark’s unmatched combination of style, quality and affordability, continuing our success in the area.”

Back in December, the business unveiled four new stores across the UK, US, France, and Spain in a single day, marking a major milestone in its international expansion.

The stores were part of a £37m investment, adding 130,000sq ft of retail space and creating 580 new jobs.
