Petra withholds Cullinan diamonds tender as US tariffs create market uncertainty
London-listed Petra Diamonds has postponed its tender five sales of about 200 000 ct of diamonds recovered at the Cullinan mine, in South Africa, until there is greater clarity on the impact of tariffs being implemented by the US on all goods imported into that country. US President Donald Trump last week announced tariffs ranging from 10% to above 100% on its trading partners across the world. This includes a 30% tariff on goods imported into the US from South Africa.
