THE WHAT? Johnson & Johnson is facing a fresh talc suit, this time in the UK. A group of some 3,500 claimants is preparing to file against the baby powder manufacturer in the high court.
THE DETAILS According to a report published by The Guardian, the case is being compiled by KP Law and turns on the pharmaceutical firm’s failure to warn consumers that is products contained asbestos. It will be the first talc case to be pursued through the British legal system.
THE WHY? A spokesperson for Kenvue told The Guardian, “We sympathise deeply with people who suffer from cancer and understand that they and their families want answers but the robust science shows that use of our talc-based powder does not cause cancer.”
