JD Sports upsizes at Burnley shopping centre
JD Sports has signed a 10-year lease for a larger premises at Charter Walk Shopping Centre in Burnley.

JD Sports has signed a 10-year lease for a larger premises at Charter Walk Shopping Centre in Burnley.
The sportswear retailer will be relocating from its current store at 50 The Mall to a bigger unit spanning 30-34 The Mall and 6-10 Fleet Walk. This move will increase its ground floor trading space from 3,973 sq ft to 5,817 sq ft.
The new store will be positioned opposite popular retailers such as River Island and Superdrug, and is expected to open in the summer of this year.
Matthew Allen, principal of Addington, said: “We are delighted that JD Sports, which has been a key part of Burnley’s retail landscape for over 20 years, has recommitted to the shopping centre.
“Occupancy across Charter Walk remains very high. By consolidating smaller units into larger, modern retail spaces, the centre is securing the long-term presence of national retailers, enhancing the overall sustainability of Charter Walk as a thriving destination for the local community.”
Other retailers, including Shoe Zone, have also upsized in the shopping centre, with the brand taking over a larger corner unit at 57 St James Street and 1-5 Fleet Walk. Shoe Zone has also signed a five-year lease for its new 3,025sq ft space.
