Fortnum & Mason has entered the on-demand delivery market, launching a new service that brings luxury hampers, loose-leaf teas, and premium biscuits straight to the doorsteps of Londoners in minutes.
Through a partnership with rapid delivery app Zapp, the service will be available 24/7, allowing customers to enjoy Fortnum & Mason’s high-end offerings whenever they wish.
This is the retailer’s first move into the rapidly growing on-demand delivery industry, which has seen other major supermarkets such as Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, and Asda partner with platforms like Deliveroo, Just Eat, and Uber Eats.
The luxury retailer, known for its high-end offerings—including hampers priced up to £1,000—aims to cater to customers looking for a premium, on-demand shopping experience.
Fortnum & Mason chief brand officer Liz Darran said: “We are always looking for new ways to bring our products to customers in a way that complements their busy lifestyles. Partnering with leading tech brand Zapp ensures our customers can enjoy their favourite Fortnum’s treats whenever they wish, delivered in minutes, 24/7.”
Zapp director Rowan Lawson added: “Our collaboration with Fortnum & Mason brings together Zapp’s fast, on-demand delivery with the retailer’s heritage and quality, offering customers instant access to some of the most sought-after luxury products on the market.”
The new service comes after a strong performance during the Christmas period, with Fortnum & Mason recently announcing the return of its loyalty scheme. The revamped program will reward customers with priority access to exclusive events and services, rather than offering discounts on purchases.
