Euroboozer seeks investment or acquisition to save business
UK & imported craft beer distributor Euroboozer is looking for investment or a sale of the business to avoid calling in the administrators. The business, which was established in 2003, quickly built to become a leading distributor for imported craft beers, making them available on keg, cask, cans and bottles to bars, restaurants, bottleshops and supermarkets across Britain. Since its very early days, Euroboozer has been distributing a selection of the UK’s most sought-after beer brands and has grown its portfolio to include brand releases from breweries such as: Deya, Verdant, Thornbridge, Roosters, Cloudwater, The Kernel, Magic Rock, Northern Monk, Siren, London Brewing Co, Queer Brewing, Purity, Tiny Rebel, Vault City, Mash Gang, North, Harbour, Polly’s. Unbarred, Lost & Grounded, Two Tribes and many others. Added to this, it has also had in place longstanding distribution deals with revered brands such as Stiegl, Schremser, Hirter and Ska and has grown both its reach and its team to meet demand. Despite seeing success across the sector as the thirst for independent beer grew in line with more venues seeking out a broader repertoire of products, the business has hit harder times over the past year with its founder doing what has been necessary to protect both the team as well as the businesses it has built strong relationships with over the years. Speaking exclusively to the drinks business, Euroboozer founder Martyn Railton said: “We've been going through an investment, fund raise and sale process for some time now and appointed financial advisers in February to help us through the final stages. Our priorities as a business have always been to our team, our suppliers and customers and nothing has changed throughout the past few months. Our focus is on securing and protecting everyone’s jobs whilst maintaining supply to customers and ensuring ongoing support to our brand partners and suppliers through continued business and volume.” Last week, rumours circulated about the beer business going into administration and selling off assets to drinks wholesaler and distributor Inn Express Railton told db that there are inaccuracies to some of the elements being discussed by individuals close to the discussions and, for clarity, explained: “We have thought we've had multiple deals in place over the past couple of months to secure all of the above but this is a movable feast and we've had some very late interest.” Keen to set the record straight and let the industry and peers know what was really happening, Railton added: “We're working through the options to decide which will be the best outcome for all staff, creditors, suppliers and customers to maintain jobs and service to all involved.”
