Euro area industrial output drops 1.1%, EU down 0.8% in December
In Dec 2024, euro area industrial output fell 1.1 per cent and EU fell 0.8 per cent month-on-month. Annually, declines were 2.0 per cent in the euro area and 1.7 per cent in the EU. Significant drops in capital goods contrasted with rises in non-durable consumer goods. Belgium, Austria, and Portugal saw major monthly declines, while Ireland and Malta posted gains.
