[Comment] Is negative pressure wound therapy beneficial for post-surgical wounds?

Although there is wide variation in the cause, location, and characteristics of chronic wounds, collectively, chronic wounds are a common contemporary problem worldwide, affecting both patient quality of life and the health-care systems caring for them.1 Chronic diabetic leg or foot ulcers have an estimated prevalence of 1·51 per 1000 population and are associated with a significant morbidity burden.1 This burden is magnified by long healing times, high infection rates, and the potential need for amputation in non-healing wounds.
